On September 25, 2024, PDSB and DPCDSB presented, “Illuminating Truths: Bridging Generations to Reconciliation.” This was a hybrid-event designed to immerse high school students in the vibrant and diverse cultures of Indigenous peoples. The event was about engaging with the inherent truth and resilience of Residential School Survivors and their descendants, taking attendees on a journey of understanding, empathy, and connection. The event featured DJ Classic Roots, Peter Schuler, Nyle “Miigizi” Johnston, Zoey Roy, Cris Derksen, Nimkii and the Ninis, Geronimo Henry, Maria Campbell, Dakota Ray Hebert, and Semiah, produced by Zoey Roy. I created the branding for the event harnessing the brilliant artwork of Nyle “Miigizi” Johnson, who created 9 custom digital pieces for the event, as well as co-hosting. All graphic design, learning guides, and animations were created for digital downloads, interactive PDFs for students and faculty to access after the event, and production of all animated assets, presented on screen throughout the entire show. Assets were also created to multiple different specs for social media and e-distro marketing.
